Employees will earn 1.25 days of Earned Leave every month, for a total of 15 days of annual leave per calendar year.

Application for leave must be in writing by email to the employees line manager with a copy marked to HR (leave@enine.dev).

Employees can carry over up to 5 days of Earned Leave into the following calendar year.

Any leave taken without applying and receiving approval will be treated as Loss of Pay (LOP). LOP will have an impact on the employees’ performance ratings and approvals.

Planned Leave:
- Applications for planned leave must be made in advance
- Leave of up to 3 days must be made at least 8 days in advance.
- Leave of 4 days or more must be made at least one calendar month in advance.
- Applications for leave made with less than described notice may be treated as unplanned.
- Planned leave without approval of your manager and HR will be treated as unplanned.

Unplanned Leave:
- Leave that is due to circumstances that are unplanned, including sickness and urgent personal work.
- Any unplanned leave will be treated as paid leave the first time every month and will be deducted from Earned Leave.
- Any unplanned leave after the first day of unplanned leave in a given month will be treated as unpaid and be treated as LOP.
- Sick leave taken after the allowed number of Sick Days will be treated like all other unplanned leave in 3.3.6 (ii) and 3.3.6 (iii).

Leave cannot be taken just before and/or immediately after a long weekend. The company reserves the right to allow for exceptions at its discretion and only if an application is made more than 30 days in advance.

Probation Period
- Employees accrue Earned Leave during their Probation Period.
- Employees cannot avail Earned Leave during their Probation Period.

Notice Period
- Employees may not avail of Earned Leave while serving out their Notice Period.
- Employees can encash Earned Leave while serving out the Notice Period at the employees’ Basic Pay rate.
- Employees who do not service any or part of their Notice Period will not earn leave for the unserved part of the Notice Period.

Upon termination of employment, any remaining balance of Earned Leave shall be encashed to the exiting employee at the employees’ Basic Pay rate at the time of exit.
